Chuck Benya, Ed.D., MPP, EMBA

Managing Director

Chuck knows the arts and humanities don’t just inspire—they transform lives and entire communities. For more than 25 years, he’s been at the forefront of organizations that champion creativity, inclusion, and cultural impact.

His career spans the arts, education, healthcare, and human services, and his passion is clear: building vibrant, inclusive communities through bold ideas and collaboration. Today, Chuck leads efforts to grow regional arts economies in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois—supporting artists, sparking innovation, and creating cultural programming that amplifies diverse voices.

From guiding mergers and turnarounds to forging strategic alliances, Chuck has driven transformative change at organizations like Artspace Southern Illinois, Vital Bridges, Illinois Alliance for Arts Education, Literature for All of Us, Heartland Alliance, Howard Brown, and CARE USA. His work is rooted in equity, sustainability, and the belief that culture and compassion together create stronger bonds.

Recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative leadership, Chuck holds a Doctorate from Vanderbilt University, an MPP from the University of Michigan, an EMBA from Quantic Tech, and a BA, Summa Cum Laude, from Nazareth College.
