Art Through the Lens

Art Through the Lens is Paducah's internationally renowned photography exhibition, with a rich history that spans over 40 years. Originally founded in 1975 as the Paducah Summer Festival Photo Competition, it has evolved into one of the Mid-South’s premier photography events. In 2013, the exhibition embraced Paducah's designation as a UNESCO Creative City, amplifying its global reach and establishing its significance on the international art stage.

This annual event showcases exceptional works from photographers worldwide, offering a platform for creative expression and connecting the community to diverse perspectives through photography. Art Through the Lens is open to all photographers, providing an outlet for artistic growth and presentation. Each year, 50-70 images are selected for exhibition by a highly qualified juror.

The exhibition is hosted by the Yeiser Art Center, located in Paducah's historic 1905 Market House building. As a non-profit visual arts organization, the Yeiser Art Center has been serving the community for over sixty years and continues to bring diversity and excellence to the region’s visual arts scene.

For Paducah, Art Through the Lens serves as a testament to its artistic heritage, celebrating both emerging and established photographic talent, and fostering cultural exchange through the universal medium of photography.
