Randy L Purcell is best known for his encaustic process of transferring ink from recycled magazines onto a thin layer of beeswax. The mosaic-like result of the process helps convey his interest in memory and it’s connection to how we perceive Art.
He graduated with a BFA from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009 and has since been exhibited throughout the United States and Canada. He’s active in several art organizations, including co-founder of Nashville Collage Collective and Four Artist TN. He’s currently on the board of both, Number Inc Magazine and Turnip Green Creative Reuse and is currently affiliated with The Copper Fox Gallery in Franklin, TN.
