Join us as we celebrate the work of two regional artists, painter Kaylan Buteyn and photographer Ronald Toth. While their materials and methods vary, many similarities can be found in the artists’ abstractions of natural subject matter. Toth’s precise microscopic photos and Buteyn’s expressive paintings strike an unexpected balance that leads the viewer on a unique visual journey through the gallery.
“We live in a fantastic world which mostly exists in our imaginations…we may sit in a chair but we are not thinking of that chair; we are thinking of a thousand other things most of which are not in the room with us and that chair. Isn’t that wonderful? I love that about us. It is just that ability that we all share- to soar while sitting still-that is at the heart of this show.”
