This class will help you capture the spirit of your beloved pet on canvas, through color and light exploration in acrylic paint. Each student will leave with a 24″x24″ painting of their pet and many new painting techniques and ideas. No prior painting experience necessary.

  • Paint and canvas will be provided.
  • Be sure to bring a photo of your pet!
  • Pack a lunch and wear clothes that are appropriate for painting.

Tanya Neitzke (b. Watertown, NY) is an artist and the Painting and FYE Assistant Professor at the West Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Paducah School of Art and Design, currently living in Brookport, Illinois. Neitzke received her M.F.A. degree at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. She has been included in various solo, two-person, and group exhibitions nationally as well as internationally.

Some of these exhibitions include In Memory, a solo exhibition at the Sauk Valley Community College Art Gallery in Dixon, Illinois, Art+Energy+Future at Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali in Turin, Italy, and Tales They Told Us at the Lexington Art League in Lexington, Kentucky. She also has been in numerous group exhibitions in the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago, Illinois, with the 33 Contemporary Gallery collective group.

Neitzke loves to explore and experiment with her work, as well as introduce people to the world of creating. She has been featured on the PBS show Expressions.
