Christy Ross is a Contemporary artist who was interested in art at a young age in rural Harrisburg, Illinois. She earned a BFA in Figure Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Class of 1991. Her works have been seen in the Gold Coast as a member of the Artists of Rodgers Park. Christy currently resides near Joy, KY.
Her surroundings transformed her art into more of an Abstract Landscape subject matter with elements of Jackson Pollock, Cy Twombly, and Julian Schnabel infused layers. Her highly textured art is mostly Oil Paint, but she is not afraid to include Mixed Media collages. She uses many techniques including Poor, Drip, Brush, Palette Knife, and Finger.
Christy recently became a member of the Yeiser Art Center and enjoys painting in her studio as a form of therapy and reflection of self.
