LaNelle Mason

Originally from Mayfield, KY and now a resident of Paducah, KY, LaNelle is an active member of the regional art community and has been a member of the artist collective called the Wastelanders since 2011. LaNelle uses a fundamental approach to her work which includes drawing, painting, and monoprinting. Her focus is on landscapes and crows. Mason says of her interest in crows, “they have ‘tude’ and make excellent subject matter.” She describes her materials, applications, and color choices for paintings to be very straightforward. “At this complex time, I feel simplification is more comforting.”
